The Scribe's Report 2010
Sunday, Nov. 14, The Fabulous Crackpot Tournament, beautiful day, temp. 63A Better Ball Tournament. I know what you're thinking, "What if they don't have a better ball?" An even bigger question was how would the b'hoys play together? After years of hooting and rooting against each other, now we were expected to play nice together. Would it work? To us who played, it was similar to rooting for the New England Patriots against the Pittsburgh Steelers (Go RAVENS!!!). Guesses ranged from -3 to a score of +6 for the BGA against a field that normally produces a winning score of -10 or better. No handicaps, just pick a team and jack it up. Well, your intrepid Scribe has to say that he was impressed. The b'hoys started with two drives to choose from in the fairway on #1 and from there proceeded to not embarrass themselves or their progeny. In the end, a bogey at the last finished the round at an even par 71; even 36 on the front and even again at 35 on the back...three birdies to perfectly balance out three bogeys. The Scribe must report the the birdie on number 8 was produced by using all three of Mr. Fifteen's shots. I know, to everyone else it is no big deal but for Mr. Fifteen there really is and "I" in team. In the Scribe's opinion two shots stand out from the round. Mr. FourSkin (BC) busted a huge drive on the par 5 10th hole. After The Commish hit the middle of the fairway 245 off the tee, Mr. FourSkin remarked, "Not bad for him." That said Mr. FourSkin was twenty yards in front of the Commish and barely ten feet behind the marker for the day's longest drive. Somehow his ball had stopped on a downhill lie. While listening to him moan about how unlucky he was, the group behind us drove a ball that sailed past BC's ball and ended up some 40 yards downhill. At least it stopped his pissing and moaning for a few holes! The next best shot came on #16. A tough tee shot but a good birdie chance if you hit a good drive. Mr. Fifteen lead off with a big slice that ended up in the stream. The Commish swung free and easy and topped his ball directly into the stream in 125 yards in front of the tee box. Full of confidence, The Snowman proceeded to lose his ball in the woods in front of the stream. Mr. FourSkin, hitting cleanup, cleared the stream but faded into the right rough. From there the b'hoys played nicely together and salvaged a par. The only time all day that we were down to our final strike and without BC's drive we were looking at double bogey in a Best Ball match. We did not win the tournament (minus 7 did) but we also did not win the "Horse's Ass" award (plus 6, I think) so your BGA played a spectacularly mediocre round and we could not have expected anything more. Prizes for everyone followed at The Crackpot Restaurant where Neil and the crew passed out awards ranging from 12 year-old scotch to used fire pits. Hot turkey sandwiches with neon yellow gravy completed a beautiful day and year of golf.
Oct. 13, clear beautiful afternoon, temp. 66 degrees THE FINAL ROUND
All eyes were on Mr. Fifteen (CS) as the BGA took to the links on a beautiful afternoon for the final round of the 2010 season. CS, looking to clinch the 2010 Cheeseburger Award, entered the round qualifying by the slightest margin. He knew he would have to put in a very strong round to take the title. Otherwise there would be no winner in 2010. The Commish had retreated south to vacation in The Outer Banks mercifully ending his season last week. His failure to play would prove costly. The three remaining golfers knew they must engage in a frantic race against the sun in order to beat the 6:31 PM sunset. Knowing what had to be done, CS put in strong round of 46 with a net 35 to win the final beer of 2010 from The Snowman (BL). The highlight for him was a birdie on #7 on a long putt. That bird would award him the silver medal for birdies breaking the tie with the absent Commish. CS would register cheeseburger points with that bird, a par and 3 GIR. However the league leader in fairways would fail to record a single fairway and initial calculations show CS may have just fallen short for his quest for the title. He will anxiously wait until the official tabulations and results are released by the BGA Central Office. Mr. FourSkin (BC) would record a very strong round of 43 with a net 36 barely losing out to CS for the beer. He would rack up 12 cheeseburger points in the process! The Snowman will fail to add to his league leading total of 25 snowmen, but CS would record his 11th snowman to take the silver medal breaking the tie with BC. The desperate race against the sunset would be lost as a painfully slow group of truly bad golfers, who failed to realize their true skill level, chose to hit from the blue tees bringing the pace to that of a speeding snail. The BGA duffers would walk off the course with a bogey each on #9 as the round was called due to darkness bringing down the curtain on the 2010 BGA golf experience.

Oct. 6, threat of rain, temp 58 degrees
Penultimate round in the 2010 season meant rushing to the course in order to squeak in the round. On tee #9, Mr. FourSkin (BC) invoked the 2-putt rule for the second time this season. On a sunny day we would be OK but overcast skies bring darkness by 6:45. The Commish (RS) played an uninspired round and ended up tying Mr. Fifteen (CS) for "loser." All that needed to be decided was who would drink for free. BC was assumed to be on his way to winning but The Snowman (BL) was quietly putting together a not too horrendous round himself. When the scores were added, The Snowman had no snow but he did have a FREE BEER coming from RS and CS and for his fine play he also was rewarded with his handicap lowering to 16 for next week.

Sept. 29, light rain, forecast for major flooding and 5" of rain, temp. 67
Even the BGA's eminent barrister and sometime traveling companion of Uncle Buford, the Hon. Mr. Butthead, mocked the Boys of the Links when they said they would get the scheduled round in. Teeing off in a light rain that lasted less than 2 holes before the clouds parted and some sun shone through, we of the BGA had the last laugh. In fact it is a laugh that I am sure we will revisit many times in the ensuing years. For the record the rains did come in after golf, is still going on and flooding is quite widespread, but "it's always sunny in the BGA," even if we are in Baltimore, not Philadelphia. Mr. FourSkin (BC) won the beer and had a decent round but it is for Hole #1, The Road Hole, that this round will be remembered. As BC was going through his pre-shot gyrations, The Commish commented that he didn't think BC would make it across the road. Boy was he wrong. Before the hole was over Mr. FourSkin not only crossed the road, he crossed it THREE TIMES! The tee shot dove to the right and into the road 25 yards ahead and bounced just enough to get across. That's No. 1. Complaining that a metal railing 3 feet high and 30 feet in front of the ball made it impossible to hit his 3 iron without risk, BC appealed for relief and a free drop to the left some 15 yards away. The sympathetic Commish ruled that the railing was part of the course, not a movable obstruction, and therefore he would have to play a recovery shot much the same as if he was in a deep fairway bunker. BC smashed a 5 iron that hit the middle rail, ricochets backwards past the Commish who was ducking behind a tree, crosses the road for a second time, going the wrong direction (No. 2), and comes to rest near the practice putting area where a helpful fellow kindly points out exactly where the ball came to rest. Using the same 5 iron BC proceeded to cross the road again (No. 3), this time going towards the green and calmly finishes out with a snowman. After three pars, a birdie, and an almost hole-in-one, Mr. FourSkin easily finished with the best score and a tale for the ages.
Scores: BC 43 (net 35), CS 53 (net 42), RS 47 (net 39)
Sept. 22, very humid, 92 degrees
It was the best of rounds, it was the worst of rounds. If you were a "Bill" you chose option #2. "Big Bill" (Mr. FourSkin) had 2 snowmen in the first three holes; "L'il Bill" (The Snowman, himself) refused to be outdone and started with a 10-8-7. Neither could recover from that kind of start. As we finished in the gloaming of the evening, the 2 Putt Rule was invoked for the final hole. (The 2 Putt Rule allows for a maximum of 2-putts on the last hole of a round if you cannot read the green because of darkness.) In this case we couldn't even see where the flag was for our approach shots; however, we finished the tough par 4, 445 yard hole with three bogeys and a double. When the scores were added and handicaps subtracted our one beer bet turned into a 4-beer bonanza. Both Bills tied with net 42 and both Swansons tied with net 36 producing one beer each for the winners from each of the losers. Needless to say, for me, "it was the best of rounds."

Sept. 15, beautiful day, 79 degrees
It was a beautiful afternoon but the first few holes played as if "It was a dark and stormy night...". The Commish (RS) and The Snowman (BL) shared a cart and proceeded to the first tee. RS hit a high wicked slice, off a tree, and ended up in a greenside bunker on hole #9. BL also went right but not in a bunker. The Mr.'s Fourskin (BC) and Fifteen (CS) both pounded drives deep down the middle of the correct fairway. When the hole was finished all four recorded bogey 6's. No blood spilled and off to hole #2. Snowman and Commish hacked their way to another pair of 6's while BC and CS played to a 5 and 7, meaning both carts were averaging a heady 6 strokes per player per hole. Knowing things had to get better does not mean that they actually will. A penalty for BL on #3 and a long bunker blast for RS produced 2 more sixes on Hole 3. That was a 6-6-6 for The Commish and a 6-6-6 for The Snowman after the first three hole. Then The Snowman made the discovery that explained it all.... Commish was walking back the 125 yards to where Frosty had left the cart as he hack, hack, hacked his way to the green, when The Snowman slapped his forehead with his putter as he saw that they were riding in Cart number 66!. That seemed to break the spell and numbers other than 6's started to show up on the scorecards. While both RS and BL finished with five 6's, Commish threw in three pars to finish just a stroke off the lead. Instead of pars, BL filled in his card with a 7 and a 9 to end up buying the beer for BC who plodded along with seven 5's to win a FREE BEER for the sixth week in a row. CS seemed to play well as he hit the most fairways, had the most pars, hit the most greens, and racked up points for The Race for the Cheeseburger. However, when the scores were totaled, Mr. Fifteen finished in the bronze medal position.

Sept. 8, hot and extremely dry, temp. 93
Baltimore sets a new record with the temperature above 90 for the 56th time this year and Mr. FourSkin (BC) is as hot as the weather.
The Snowman (BL) failed to post as he had an emergency at the bank, The Commish (RS) played his "penultimately-worst" round of the season, and Mr. Fifteen (CS) played a silver-medal quality round, good enough to drop his handicap but not good enough to remember for very long. All in all, a yawner of a round. RS did get to play a prototype new ball from Titleist and lost it on his drive on the 7th hole. So if you find a Titleist 3 stamped with "Test" on it it just might be the newest thing out there.
Scores: BC 42 (net 34), CS 47 (net 36), RS 52 (net 44)
Sept. 1, hot, damn hot, temp. 95
It looked like another SPECIAL ROUND for The Snowman (BL). He started with an 8, followed by 7, 8, 7, 8 bringing his streak of consecutive holes of hanger (7) or higher to an incredible 14. He stepped up to his nemesis hole, the Par 3 6th, hit the green from 120 yards with a 13-wood, calmly 3-putted and the streak was over. Other notable holes included The Commish's (RS) less than spectacular 5-putt on the first hole, effectively ruining his round before it got started and Mr. Fifteen (CS) holing his third birdie of the year. Even with his birdie, handicap rose for both Frosty and Mr. Fifteen. Mr. FourSkin (BC) had an unremarkable round composed of all 4's, 5's, and 6's to win his fourth consecutive FREE BEER at Baltimore's famous Crackpot Restaurant.

Aug. 25, beautiful day, low humidity and few clouds, temp. 78
The beautiful weather gave no indication of how horrendous this round was to be. It was so bad that no one even noticed that Mr. Fifteen (CS) was shooting a terrible round of 52. The Commish (RS) and Mr. FourSkin (BC) tied for low score and were mere after thoughts today. This round was all about The Snowman (BL). In fact, it was so monumental that The Snowman Speaks about it in his own words on his page. The round began reasonably enough with a 9 (a "Levering" and an El Nino) on hole 1. This was followed up with back-to-back double pars (8's or snowmen) or #2 and #3. Then came a Pavoratti (10) on #4 followed by the first blemish on BL's scorecard when he had a 7 (another "Levering") on #5. A "bounce-back" snowman on the par 3 #6 hole gave hope that this round really would be one for the ages but Frosty finished strongly with 3 consecutive Leverings and barely was able to crack the psychological 70 barrier! For those keeping score at home I realize that adding Pavorattis, Leverings, and Snowmen can get confusing so here again is BL's score hole-by-hole:
9 - 8 - 8 - 10 - 7 - 8 - 7 - 7 - 7 = 71
1 Pavoratti, 1 El Nino, 3 Snowmen, and 4 Leverings, ouch (I hope I didn't say that out loud)
Scores: BC 45 (net 37), BL 71 (net 56), CS 52 (net 42) RS 45 (net 37)1 Pavoratti, 1 El Nino, 3 Snowmen, and 4 Leverings, ouch (I hope I didn't say that out loud)
with a score like this it doesn't really matter which hole was the par 5 and which the par 3. Do yourself a favor and make sure you read about The Snowman's Myrtle-ish round in his own words.
Aug. 18, continuous drizzle, course saturated with 2" of rain, temp. 76
"Mediocre" best describes today's play as we were unable to adjust to the soggy conditions. When greens were hit, the ball marks were huge and stopped short of the flag, when we played to fly pin high (tried to, anyway) then it looked like the PGA as the balls spun almost off the green. This led to a putting contest and Mr. FourSkin, with 15 putts won the FREE BEER by a single stroke. Mr. Fifteen won the bronze medal for finishing 3rd out of four players but he won the season's first cheeseburger by correctly GUESSING every trivia question "About the Snowman" (see Home Page for next week's questions) . Obviously he has not had that horse-shoe-ectomy to remove the foreign object stuck up his butt. The BGA Central Office has issued a congratulatory message to CS and, believe me, that is enough said about this dismal turn of events. This round's Snowman count: BL 2, CS 1.

Aug. 11, hot and extremely humid, temp. 95
Today's round produced a mixed bag of results. Mr. Fifteen finally joined the "2" club with a birdie on the Par 3 #6. At last The Commish has some company in that exclusive club! Mr. FourSkin started with a snowman on #1, had a "hanger" on #4 and still managed to win the beer for the best round. On top of that his handicap went up to 8. How is that possible? Our own Snowman waited until the final hole to record his only snow of the round and was just bad enough to have to buy BC a tall cold one at The CrackPot. Oh yeah, BC had an "almost eagle" on #7 and settled for a tap in birdie.

Aug. 4, hot and extremely humid, temp. 95
The Snowman was A.W.O.L. for this round and consequently there is little to report. The Commish had low round, Mr. Fifteen won the beer at The Crackpot, and Mr. FourSkin bought the aforesaid beer. Commish had another 2 on the par 3 6th hole, hit four fairways and 5 greens in regulation, 3 one-putts but 4 3-putts. If he only had a putter! Congrats to CS as his 9-hole handicap dropped to a 10. Now maybe someone else will have a chance to win the weekly beer.

July 28, hot and humid, temp. 94
The trivia contest was "All About the Snowman" but The Commish stole the focus. In an interview with your Scribe after the round, The Commish said, "BC was pounding the ball (FYI: 268 yard avg. off the tee) but I caught him and on the eighth tee I led him and The Snowman for low net. I stood at only 4 over par after 7." Playing smart (often the "kiss of death" in the BGA) The Commish used a 3-wood on #8 in order to draw the ball around the trees on the left. Sadly, he found the trees on the right. BC hit a perfect drive (288 yards) and was less than 80 from the hole in the fairway. The Commish continued, "Rather than play safely back towards the teebox I knew I could hit a hot 4 iron under the branches, between two trees, and still have an outside chance for par. Well, I missed the two trees I was aiming at but it went through two other trees and looked good. Then it happened. The ball was past the last tree but somehow bounced straight up and backwards, hit a high branch, clunked off another trunk and bounced further right and into another tree. No shot so I played safe and hit a branch and skittered right into the notch of a huge oak. Took an unplayable, chipped out. skulled a wedge over the green and down a steep hill coming to rest next to, I swear, a 1/4" sapling that was staked in the middle of nowhere. Had to hit standing backwards with the club upside down; a few more pitches from hardpan, a downhill and twisty putt that peeked in the hole before going past and a simple 30-incher coming back for my 12. Game over."

July 21, hot and humid, temp. 92
Returning from a week in the Caribbean, Mr. Fifteen (CS) recorded his first birdie of the season as he matched his low round of the year. In a manner more akin to the PGA than the BGA, his birdie did not win hole #3 as it only allowed him to push Mr. FourSkin (BC) who, moments before, recorded his BGA-leading 4th bird of the year. The Snowman (BL) shook off his recent "funk" and shot nine strokes less than his last 2 rounds. He did find "snow" on the first hole but then had nothing over a six. Pity the poor Commish (RS) as he, too, had no score over 6 and was poised for a good round if only he could putt. Seven times he was within seven feet of the hole and only one putt went in. In a tightly fought match, BC did have the low round but barely was able to avoid buying a beer for CS. In fact, CS was just a whisker away from three players tying for high net and winning the "trifecta" of three beers, a feat done only once in BGA history.

July 15, hot and humid, course soft and soggy, temp: 91
Today we watched the biggest collapse since the 1964 Phillies. The Commish brought his "C" game; The Snowman continued to show signs of melting; and BC (Mr. FourSkin) was tearing it up. With 5 drives of over 250, 5 fairways and four pars it was going to be an easy win for "Tink" (another of BC's aliases). On #8 tee he was informed (by The ever helpful Commish) that a Cheeseburger was still a possibility. Having a four-stroke lead and playing the easiest par 4 on the course, Tink hammered his drive into the treeline, played a "safe" layup behind another tree, dumped a chip, chili-dipped another and then finally reached the green where, 2 putts later he was in for a hanger. The Cheeseburger was gone and after another 7 on the last hole so was his beer. Tink finished 7-7 to the Commish's 4-5 to lose his four-stoke "easy victory." In true BGA fashion, he grasped defeat from the jaws of victory. If you look at the scores closely you will see that "46" was wild.
Scores: BC 46 (net 39), BL 61 (net 46), RS 46 (net 38)
July 7, record heat, temp: 101
After yesterday's temperature hit a record 105, today seemed downright balmy at a mere 101. The Commish and Mr. Fifteen battled down to the last putt for the weekly award of a tall cold one at the fabulous Crackpot Restaurant. On #9, a tough 445 yard uphill par 4, CS had a 12 footer for par that came up 6" short and finished with a net 34 leaving RS with a 4-foot downhiller to tie. The Commish holed it and instead of a single beer being won, The Snowman had to buy a cold one for each of the Swansons. BC recorded the only 3 of the day and The Snowman had the only scores over 6 as he had two Hangers, a pair of snows, and a Pavoratti (link to BGA Terminology).

June 30, sunny and pleasant, temp: 80
Your Scribe was on vacation so he had to rely on his on-course spies to deliver this sketchy report:Only 2 players posted for this round, The Snowman (BL) and Mr. Fifteen (CS). BL managed to hit 2 fairways and, as everyone in the BGA knows, bad things happen from the short grass. These fairways hits led to bunkers and then big numbers. Suffice to say that The Snowman has once again claimed a firm hold on his title as he recorded a season high of 3 eights. CS played a mediocre round himself but won the beer easily with his net of 1 over par 37.
Scores: BL 59 (net 44), CS 48 (net 37)
June 23, hot and humid, temp: 97
BC on vacation in Kauai, so Josh Gerber filled in. BL allowed family matters to pull him off the course after 3 holes. Couldn't have been too hot, could it? Anyway bad golf abounded, particularly from the Commish as he put in his worst round of the year and had to buy a brew for Mr. Fifteen at the 19th Hole. Oh yeah, Josh tried his best to emulate the kind of golf we play; however, after the round we played an additional hole, the 545 yard par 5 10th at Mt. Pleasant. A horrible "mishit" tee shot went about 300 yards in the fairway. Second shot about 250 severely uphill to the green, and then he calmly dropped a 9-foot putt for his EAGLE. Well done, Mr. Sandbagger!Scores: CS 47 (net 36), RS 53 (net 45), JG 47 (no hdcp)

This week's trivia contest was "All About Bill 'FourSkin' Cockey." While Mr. C evidently did not know his game as well as the rest of us, he did win the beer of the week at our usual watering hole, The Crackpot Restaurant. In order to celebrate in his usual over-the-top manner, Mr. C immediately left in his private jet for several weeks in Kauai. Aloha, brother duffer! Not very much to report in this round as there were only 2 nines, 1 eight and 5 sevens scored. Bad indeed, but we are capable of so much more. The other Bill, aka "The Snowman", did record the only frosty (an 8 on #9) as he once again assumed the lead in that coveted category.

June 9, heavy storms early, good weather during round, temp: 67
Your Scribe is feeling like a weatherman this season as he has to report on heavy storms that should have washed out the round today except that the skies cleared in time for the BGA to have the course to ourselves for our round and them almost immediately after we got in our cars the rain started again. It was a closely contested round and brought about a first for the BGA. Our Snowman, BL, lost the beer and had to buy for BC; however, in spite of having the highest round, The Snowman's handicap was the only one that did not go up after the round. CS had a "snow" (8) and a "blow" (an El Nino or 9) to go along with his four pars in a tops and bottoms kind of round.

June 2, good weather, hot & humid, temp: 91
Good weather wasn't enough to bring out good golf this week. The Commish did manage to shoot a second consecutive 41 to win another brewski, this time from the Snowman himself. After a run of 4 rounds of "net" par or better the Snowman finally returned to form with a pair of snows, 4 hangers and an El Nino. Once again he is leading the league in frosties (there is a three-way tie with 5 for BC, BL, and CS). RS did gain on BC in the birdie race with another deuce on #6.

May 27, threat of t'storms and damaging hail, temp: 94
Weather held off until after the round and then it was spectacular, just like our golf! BC started off with a bird on #1 and by the time it was over the high net score was only 38 (CS), three players were under par, and The Commish was sipping free beer for the first time this season. Commish's handicap dropped to 7 and The Snowman lowered his stroke/hole ratio to less than 6 for the first time in living memory. Well done, my frosty fellow. BL and CS are in positive numbers in the Race for the Cheeseburger at the end of May.

May 19, overcast skies, temp: 63
Relatively mediocre golf except by The Snowman. BL had a net 22 after 7 holes and had the chance to win the season's first Cheeseburger if he could get home in 9 strokes or less. When informed of this he played his next four shots from the wrong fairway on the wrong side of the forest and after scoring his hanger no longer had to worry about what to put on his bun. BC had a good round until finishing with a Snow, six, six. The Commish had a four putt but still posted the low round, just not low enough to win a beer. CS got in plenty of practice with 3 hangers and a Snow to finish with a 53, just enough to increase his handicap back to 11.

May 12, heavy rain, no wind, miserable conditions, temp: 60
First time his year that the tees on #1 were across the road; however, everyone was pleased to cross the road on their tee shot. Congratulations. First hole produced a Hanger, a Snowman, an El Nino and a Streckfus by the Commish who was in front of the green in three and in the hole in 11! After that play proceeded very nicely, except for the constant downpour and the Commish bounced back by recording the season's first deuce on #6. CS won his third consecutive beer, this one from BC. Handicaps for BL and CS both dropped for next week.

May 5, perfect weather, very slow greens, temp: 82
Only three players posted for this round as Frosty continued to allow family matters interfere with his BGA commitments. The Commish hacked his way to a glorious 10 on #1 and was unable to make a comeback as Mr. Fifteen and Mr. FourSkin tied for the win and each was awarded with a beer at The Crackpot. In a cruel twist of math, even though he won a beer, CS's handicap went up a stroke for future rounds.

The Snowman became the first player to fail to post at a scheduled event this season. His lame excuse, however, did not prevent him putting in an appearance at the fabulous Crackpot later in the evening. A single snowman each was posted by the three players who did tee off. To everyone's surprise CS, who started with his snowman, found his inner golfer and went on to win the evening's beer from The Commish. For the record CS hit 5 fairways, 4 GIRs, and had 3 pars for a resounding 12 cheeseburger points. This round has vaulted him into the lead for the coveted hunk of meat.

April 21, rainout, temp: 55
April 14, perfect weather, aerated greens, temp: 61
The Snowman came to play and walked off the links with his second beer in as many weeks. Not only did he win but he beat BC by 4 strokes scratch even though he gets 10 strokes! Way to go, BC. Oh yeah, nice round Mr. L. Riding in the lead cart RS and BL did not record a score over 6 on any hole, unfortunately they did record four of those sixes each. Of note: BC scored his first 2 Frosties of the year; CS recorded 10 cheeseburger points with 4 pars, 3 GIRs and 3 Fairways; RS made par on #7 in spite of incurring a penalty. With his great round, BL missed winning the season's first Cheeseburger by only 2 strokes.
Scores: BC 53 (net 47), BL 49 (net 33), CS 47 (net 37), RS 46 (net 39)
April 7, perfect weather, aerated greens, temp: 90
Interesting round of particularly bad golf. Played back nine for first time in several years. The Snowman (BL) started with 18 on the first 2 holes (one of which was a par 3) and his round was the best and he is now on the board with his first beer of 2010. While the records have not been researched yet, it was one of the few rounds that all players were above 40 net. BC and RS each had one hanger while CS and BL each had 2 sevens and one higher score; and, they finished first and second.
Scores: BC 48 (net 42), BL 56 (net 40), CS 51 (net 41), RS 50 (net 43)
Mar. 31 perfect weather, wet course, temp: 65
Bland round best characterized by The Commish ending with 7 straight 5's. Worst of all CS won 2 beers as BC and RS tied for highest net score. BL did record the season's first El Nino. The month ended with no one in contention for winning The Race for the Cheeseburger.
Scores: BC 49 (net 43), BL 57 (net 41), CS 46 (net 36), RS 50 (net 43)
